Ali Fazal has made his mark not only in Bollywood but also in Hollywood. The actor impressed everyone with his cameo in Furious 7, after which he gained popularity in the West when he landed Victoria and Abdul alongside Dame Judy Dench. With its next international release, Death on the Nile, the actor around the corner is already based on a bestseller by the same name for the main part in the code-named Johnny Walker.

As an actor in his 34th birthday today, let's take a look at his achievements:
One of the youngest Indian Academy members
Fazal was one of the youngest members of the academy from India. In 2018, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences invited 928 artists to be part of the Oscar membership. That year Fazal was the youngest Indian on that list, which included Shah Rukh Khan, Tabu, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. In an interview, Fazl said, "I feel enthusiastic, honored and humbled to be on that list of beautiful people. Kanima is the key to uniting people around the world. The Academy is a lasting example of that and I Hope I hope. Serve well in the years of entertainment to come."
The first Indian to play a titular role in an international film
With the conversation surrounding the lack of representation in the West, it was a great move for Victoria and Abdul's producers to cast Ali in a titular role for the film. It was the first time for any Indian actor. Ali had commented in an interview that Kinnar representation has opened doors for writers to see talent in India. He said in an interview during the promotion, "With Victoria and Abdul, we finally broke the stigma surrounding an Indian cast to get the lead role in a Hollywood film. Indian cinema is now on the world stage."
The first Indian to make a biopic in the West
The codename is written by Alan Venkus, a former writer for Johnny Walker, his next, famous chat show - The Tonight Show and Straight Outta Compton, for which he received an Academy nomination. This is the first time an Indian actor is playing the lead role in a Western biopic.
He is surrounded by legends
A solid reason for Ali's success is that the actor is surrounded by great talent during his career in the West. From working with Academy Award-winning actress Judy Dench and Academy nominee Stephen Fryers in Victoria and Abdul to working with the Venus, to the talented Kenneth Branagh (who has several Academy names), who has written screenplays for her. Next, the actor keeps the company of great actors and wishes for a better craft to learn from his master himself everyday.
Named as top 10 actors to watch
On the heels of the release of Victoria and Abdul on their 2017 list, Ali was seen as one of the actors to watch by the popular Diversity magazine in the US. The actor was named, along with Timothee Chalamet, Kyresi Clemons, Daveed Diggs, Kumail Nanjiani, Grace Van Lease. Previous awards for this honor have included Oscar-winning actresses such as Lupita Nyongo and Viola Davis.
